I have an awesome announcement to make!
A friend of mine, known as Xenascully to those of you on fanfiction.net or Facebook, is putting on a convention for fanfic writers and readers, and basically for fans in general of shows like Supernatural and NCIS.
Here’s a link to the event page on Facebook.
The event will feature live Q&A panels from some of your favorite fanfiction writers, so you’ll be able to pick their brains and see the people behind those stories that have made you stay up all night reading. All proceeds for the event are going to various charities and included with your cover charge for the event will be a free catered lunch, a silent auction, the Q&A panels, and lots of contests and prizes. Cosplay and Larping will be encouraged.
There will also be an event for the Reader’s Choice Awards for the best fanfiction stories in multiple categories.

Though I myself cannot make it in person to the festivities (it is simply too close to the time I’ll be going to Comic Con) I will be there via webcast. So if you’ve ever wanted to bug me about anything, this is your chance.
When I found out about this event I was very excited and I’m truly disappointed I can’t make it there live this year. With so many different conventions in the world, it’s awesome to see one devoted purely to fandom and fanfiction in general. So I hope y’all will join up, vote for your favorite story, make some donations, and then go have some fun in Roanoke, VA (July 16).
For those who can’t make it, there’s a Donate button set up on the page so that you can donate to the charities. Donating also allows you to vote in the Reader’s Choice Awards (as does your cover charge, if you are attending the event live). Voting for the awards opens up in a week so stay tuned to the page for more details.
