Muffy Morrigan is a fellow fanfiction writer who is now a published author. She often writes about the benefits of writing fanfiction on her website, MuffyMorrigan.com and recently I stumbled across another one of her great posts.
In this article, she talks about using fanfiction in a whole new way (at least to me). Have you ever thought about letting someone read one of your original works and then write a fanfiction story based off of it? Well neither had I until Muffy posed the question in her article below, but talk about a great way to get insight into your story, your characters and much more I’m sure.
To check out Muffy’s thoughts on the matter I invite everyone to go read Fanfiction as a Writer’s Tool, then come back and let me know what you thought of the idea and if you’re planning to let anyone jump into your world and play with YOUR characters for a little while.
As they say, turn about is fair play. Us fanfiction writers spend a lot of time playing in other writers’ sandboxes, isn’t it about time we got a taste of our own medicine?
